Dijk en Waard, Hoorn, AlkmaarMentorship enriches your worldMentorschap Noordwest en MiddenImagine that due to illness or a disability you are not able to stand up for your own healthcare interests. And you don't have a family who can help you with this. Wouldn't you also be happy with a mentor? Someone who articulates your wishes and opinions well. You help to make decisions in health and well-being. And visits you regularly to get to know you well.Ilse certainly is. She is 58 years old and has an intellectual disability. She finds it difficult to make decisions about care and welfare for herself. That is why she is very happy with her mentor Renske. As a mentor, Renske is Ilse's legal representative and confidential advisor. She visits her regularly and then they go for a walk or play a game. In addition, she helps her in making choices such as whether or not to vaccinate or operate. Renske also ensures that agreements made are fulfilled by consulting with Ilse's care providers. For Ilse, mentorship means maintaining one's own direction. Renske finds the mentorship an enrichment of her life.Renske is one of the 370 voluntary mentors of the Northwest and Central Mentorship Foundation. Our Foundation offers mentorship to adults with intellectual or psychiatric disabilities, dementia or acquired brain injury. Mentorship is a legal protective measure, which the court institutes. Our Foundation is appointed for this by the court and as a mentor you carry out the mentorship. The Foundation trains and guides you in your role as a mentor.Besides Ilse, there are many more people who are looking for a mentor, so become a mentor too! What do you get as a mentor?• challenging volunteer work with content and personal contact• work with a large personal contribution, which you can organize flexibly• training and guidance• a monthly expense allowanceAre you the person who:• can empathize well with others• is communicative and dares to make decisions• has been trained at least at MBO-4 level• is available at least 4 hours per monthPlease contact us for further information.More information can also be found at www.stichtingmentorschap.nlRegularly

Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Heiloo, AlkmaarCare assistantRode KruisDo you have a heart for the elderly in times of need within healthcare?Due to the crisis in healthcare, it is becoming increasingly common for there to be (acutely) too few staff within a healthcare institution. The general daily care of residents, such as assistance with eating and drinking, getting around, etc. is then compromised. The Netherlands Red Cross has developed the Emergency Assistance Support Healthcare Institutions activity to temporarily support professional healthcare teams with the deployment of volunteers. The aim is to ensure that daily care for residents continues if there are temporarily too few staff available. The volunteers receive short training in the field of care support and welfare before they start helping at the care institution. The first volunteers have started in elderly care in Alkmaar and Heiloo and the experiences are very positive.About what you're going to doDepending on the amount of care a resident needs, you help a resident independently or you support the care worker with activities of daily living (ADL). This includes changing beds, helping the resident eat and drink or move around the house, but also help with dressing and undressing, washing or going to the toilet. Of course, this also includes a listening ear or a chat. Residents receive the guidance and attention they need, partly because of you. You always perform your tasks under the responsibility of and in consultation with a healthcare professional.About your department and teamAs a care assistant in Alkmaar or Heiloo, the Red Cross Noord-Holland Noord district team is your base. The coordinator ensures that you feel at home within the Red Cross. This person is your point of contact during your working hours. If the Red Cross receives a request for help, we will call you. You indicate whether you are available and schedule your times: 1 full day or 2x half a day. When things are quiet, we will call you once every three months. This way you keep your work under control. When it's busy, we hope you have time to work some extra time. You will be part of a volunteer team of care assistants from the Red Cross.About what this volunteer work brings you• What you do is valuable; With attention and care you are of significance to vulnerable elderly people in healthcare institutions.• You are part of the department team in the healthcare institution and really make a difference; your support relieves the burden on healthcare professionals in times of need.• You will receive a (partly online) training including 3 practical guidance days at MBO level.• Optional in-depth evenings to develop further and learn more about specific target groups.• You will receive a volunteer agreement, which will reimburse travel costs and expenses. You are also insured during the work.About you• You find it fun and useful to help in healthcare as a volunteer.• You are 18 years or older, physically fit to perform care tasks and speak Dutch well.• Work experience in healthcare is nice, but not necessary.• You are a good listener, are social and empathetic, flexible, can improvise and know how to tackle things.• You want to provide healthcare support 4 to 8 hours a week and can use a computer. When choosing the right candidate, the Red Cross is not guided by cultural background, physical limitations, gender identity, religious beliefs, orientation or age.About your responseDo you want to use your qualities for the Red Cross? Send a short motivation and your CV to the volunteer management team via the button below. Do you have questions about the position? Then message event assistance coordinator, Jeannette. For other questions, please contact the Volunteer Management Team.About usHelping people in need around the corner – and far away, from our hearts and with our sleeves rolled up. That is what the Red Cross stands for.We do this by increasing people's resilience, so that they help themselves and others in emergency situations. In the Netherlands, the Red Cross helps with more than fourteen thousand volunteers by providing Emergency Aid, Event Aid, First Aid (education) and Citizen Aid, among other things.vacancy number NHN2310Regularly
