Is Naruto Ready to Debut Its Next Mangekyo Sharingan? Sarada Better Get Ready (2024)

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is gearing up to see the debut of Sarada Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan soon, finally building up the future Hokage to realize her potential and become everything she was meant to be. With the series kicking off its second arc, it already hints at an exciting development that will shake the fandom.

In chapter #16 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Shikamaru and Eida talked with Kashin Koji through one of his toads. Kashin Koji tells Shikamaru to send Mitsuki, Sarada, and Konohamaru to the Land of the Wind, to rescue Gaara from his predicament at the hands of the Divine Trees. While Shikamaru was very hesitant, he ended up doing as he was told and the three met up with the Sand Ninjas Araya and Yodo. This marks the beginning of the series' second arc, and it could be finally time for Sarada to use her Mangekyo Sharingan in battle for the first time.

Sarada Will Hopefully Use Her Full Powers Soon

Sarada awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan, which resembles a sun, in chapter #79 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, convincing Sasuke to save Boruto and run away with him. It hasn't appeared since then, and while there was an opportunity for her to do so in the fight against Hidari, the powerful technique has yet to show up again. Kashin Koji sent Team 7 to an incredibly dangerous location, and the group found Ryu and Matsuri, ready to go and devour Gaara.

The series has already established how absurdly powerful the God Trees are, so it wouldn't make sense for Kashin Koji to have that much faith in two genins and jonins, who were much weaker than Hidari. Kashin Koji has the Prescience shinjutsu, which allows him to see the future, so he must know something or someone will help the three in their fight against the two God Trees. Mitsuki's Sage Mode and Konohamaru's new improved arsenal are certainly powerful, but it isn't enough. The only other thing that could give them an edge is Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan.

While there has been a lot of speculation and theories surrounding her Mangekyo Sharingan, there aren't enough hints that might point fans in the direction of what its specific power could be. However, to combat her current foes, it must be something very powerful that will give her a fighting chance. Furthermore, the Mangekyo Sharingan will also allow her to use the Susanoo, giving her an almost impregnable defense against these monsters. She will also get two unique abilities from each of her eyes, further increasing her arsenal of techniques.

The Battle To Liberate Her Father Is Coming

While Boruto has made a solemn promise to rescue Sasuke on his own, it would hold even greater significance if Sarada were to take on this challenge instead. Successfully rescuing Sasuke would not only demonstrate her strength and resolve but also play a crucial role in her ambition to become Hokage one day. By defeating a powerful adversary like Hidari, Sarada would showcase her capabilities and establish herself as a leading contender for the Hokage position. To accomplish this daunting task, she will need a new power that will be her trump card.

While a Mangekyo Sharingan is definitely necessary for her fight, the abilities she will get are more important. Historically, the Mangekyo Sharingan abilities reflected the mental state of the user. Obito, who was disillusioned with the world and wanted to get out of it received an ability that allowed him to travel across dimensions. Sasuke, who was redirecting his hatred from Itachi to Konoha received Kagutsuchi which let him manipulate the flames of Ametarasu. Sarada's current situation is harder to summarize, as she is distressed by her father's capture and wants to help Boruto, so her ability could be anything.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex's second story arc has begun, and it seems that Sarada and Team 7 are set to take the stage. As Kashin Koji described, they need the minimum number of forces to take down Jura's accomplices before focusing on him, so it is very likely that Boruto will not be interfering in this fight and rescuing Sarada and the others again. This gives the young Uchiha a chance to shine on her own and finally prove why she is the future Hokage and one of the series' main cast.
